"Those Unknown"

Their bodies are on Earth while their souls soar.

Three soldiers have fallen, never to rise.

Their remains are entombed in a sacred brig,

Guarded from the weather and our prying eyes.

Their actions are archived in our minds.

The goals they fought for no one dares to forget.

The country that they served for is still standing.

The flag to which they pledged their lives has not fallen yet.

No one knows the soldiers’ names or identities.

And few yet survive who know how they died.

Only one fact is known: what they fought for.

But we all know why they fought for this side.
